This property is the original home site of John Drummond, First Fleeter and crew member of HMS Sirius. Drummond was a Master Gunner, then Beach Master for Norfolk. A most important and trusted position. Drummond was also a founding member of the first Masonic Club in Australasia as member of the St. Johns Lodge No: 1, which commenced here in Norfolk Island. Masonic meetings would have been held on this property in 1790s and early 1800s.

Drummond, a free settler after the wreck of Sirius in 1791 was granted this land by Governor Phillip Gidley King, created his home on this site called Drummonds Run. This property also appears on all period maps of Norfolk. Similar Runs were: Proctors Run, Philemon Run and Morgans Run, made famous by Colleen McCulloughs novel of the same name .
