Low Interest Credit Cards

The low rate credit card market in Australia is currently red hot with banks and credit card issuers such as Virgin Money and Aussie fighting for market share.

In 2006 we have seen BankWest launch their Lite MasterCard with an 8.99% p.a. interest interest on purchases and Citibank re launch their Clear Visa Card with an outstanding 9.90% p.a. on purchases and cash advances and a 0% introductory offer on balance transfers.

At the lower end of the low interest credit card market is BankWest and St.George with their respective card offering 8.99% p.a. on purchases and then Citibank Clear Visa Card with an outstanding 9.90% p.a. on purchases and cash advances.

In the middle of this card segment is the HSBC, Aussie, NAB and Members Equity Bank. These credit cards offer interest rates of between 10.24% p.a. to 10.99% p.a. .

At the upper end of the low interest credit card segment is ANZ, Westpac, Virgin Money, Ge Money with interest rates of between 11.24% p.a. to 12.65% p.a.
